Carnatic vocalist, Bharathanatyam dancer, ace nattuvanar – These are the many artistic facets of Revathy Kumar, one of the very few promising young artistes of India in classical music and dance.

Mentored by and trained under her illustrious gurus Late Sangeetha Kala Acharya Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman (presently Sri. P. Vasanth Kumar) and Padmasri Kum. Shobana Chandrakumar in Carnatic vocal and bharathanatyam respectively, Revathy, a dancer-musician, with 18 years of artistic focus, is a paradigm of a complete artiste who has had the privilege of sharing stage with eminent artistes from various disciplines such as her guru Shobana, Sri Ranjit Barot, Sri Vijay Ghate, Sri Anil Srinivasan, Sri Sanjoy Das, etc. to name some.

Revathy has hundreds of stage performances to her credit, having performed in over 15 Countries across geographies. Her performances have received rave reviews from leading media houses such as “The Hindu” and “The Times of India”. She has won several accolades including “Yuva Kala Bharathi” deemed by Bharat Kala Char, Chennai in 2011 for her all round exemplary skills, “Yuva Kalakar Puraskar” from Sri Shanmukhananda, Mumbai in 2012 and The Music Academy’s Spirit of Youth “Best Female Vocalist” in 2008. She is also a B-High grade artiste with the All India Radio, Chennai.

A versatile artiste, Revathy has also worked in theatre productions of filmmaker Prasanna Ramaswamy. Besides, she has excelled in her academics as well, being a qualified lawyer and a Company Secretary with an All India Rank.
